In private practice, I specialize in working with youth ages 12+, adolescents and adults.
HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE RECOMMENDED?
WHAT IS MY THERAPEUTIC APPROACH?
My approach is client-centred, strength-based, anti-oppressive and trauma-informed and rooted in nervous system regulation. My approach also goes beyond simply talking, but will also involve experiential exercises to support emotional processing, such as, meditation, mindful movement, breath work, art therapy and expressive arts, parts work, EMDR, and somatic therapy.
IS PSYCHOTHERAPY COVERED BY OHIP OR INSURANCE?
Psychotherapy is not covered by OHIP. However, many extended health care benefits do provide coverage for psychotherapy. Your insurance provider can help you determine the coverage with your plan.

It is possible to benefit from just one session, depending on your goals and your situation. During the session, you will also learn about activities you can continue at home on your own. However, the ideal scenario would be to come for at least four therapy sessions, that way there is a chance to build on the work done previously in the initial sessions. For some people the ideal model is six to ten sessions, for others it is to continue with psychotherapy sessions over many months. Whatever is best for you can be done.
